What a busy week we have had in the library!
Kindergarten and First Grade have been experimenting with work stations in the library. During the checkout portion of our time together, the children have the opportunity to listen to books on cd, read in a comfy spot with friends, create in an art station, work on rhyming and mathematical skills with a learning palette and practice writing words at a writing station.
Story Time: We laughed together with a Piggy and Elephant book by Mo Willems. I can't tell you which one, because each class had a different pick.
Second and Third Grade: This week we enjoyed two books by Melanie Watt, Chester and Chester's Masterpiece. After a few weeks of studying books that aligned with our reading curriculum it was fun to take a break and just giggle with some silly books.
Fourth Grade: We have been working in preparation for the Social Studies Research project about Iowa. This weeks students discussed plagiarism, what it means, what it looks like and how it might feel to have our work copied and we practiced writing a citation, giving credit to an author of an article.
